General[edit | edit source]

What is H1Z1?[edit | edit source]

H1Z1 is an upcoming survival, Free-to-Play, MMO game developed by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). "Our focus is building a sandbox style of gameplay where players fight for survival in a world where death is the only sure thing. Everyday life in the Apocalypse means dealing with all kinds of wild animals and the brutality of other survivors, as well as finding your next meal and a safe place to sleep. It also means scavenging or crafting anything that can help you live just one more day. In H1Z1 every minute of every day is borrowed time and fearing for your life… unless you are the Danger, but life can and will go on… even in circumstances as dire as this. Humanity has not given in to the Infected. There are still pockets of humanity and the fight goes on!"

Development[edit | edit source]

What is Early Access?[edit | edit source]

Early Access is designed for those wishing to support the ongoing development of H1Z1 and be a part of shaping its future. Early Access allows us to develop H1Z1 side-by-side with the players and build lasting relationships with our community.

At Early Access players can expect to see initial iterations of crafting, base building, combat, vehicles, circle-of-death, day / night cycle, weather, player vitals, hunting & foraging, and, of course, Zombies, in the game.

H1Z1 is in a very early stage of development, and it will continue to grow and evolve based off of the feedback we get from the players during Early Access. Those who choose to participate in Early Access should anticipate an evolving feature set, bugs, incomplete content, missing features, and potentially game breaking issues.

How long will Early Access last?[edit | edit source]

We want to focus on creating the best possible zombie survival game rather than setting a timeframe for the duration of Early Access. Once we feel H1Z1 is ready, we will announce the next step in the development process.

How will player servers work?[edit | edit source]

H1Z1 Servers will use the ForgeLight engine so we have the potential to support thousands of players simultaneously in game. With H1Z1, however, we want to find the balance between it feeling like a zombie apocalypse and having others to play with. As development continues we will adjust the number of players allowed on each server.

H1Z1 will be one of the first games ever to feature a Player Ruleset Server system, allowing players to the ability to vote on and create custom rule sets and attributes that suits their play style best. We are still working out details, but players can participate in the discussion thread on Reddit:
